Sikhism:- Sikhism is among the most modern of great living religions. Its founder, Nanak, lived between 1469 and 1538 A.D. in a province of Punjab in India. Though it has a small number of adherents and was founded during modern times, Sikhism has exerted considerable influence upon the religious life of the East. The Sikhism tells us about followings:- Anger. Courage. Deeds. Duty. Evil. Faith. Forgiveness. Justice. Man. Love. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anger:- Avarice is a dog, Falsehood a sweeper, Cheating is the eating of a dead body; Slander is the dirt that my tongue tasteth, And anger is the fire that burns me as at cremation, I indulge in nothing but self-esteem; See, these are my doings, O Lord. Courage:- Brave is he, who possessing strength displays it not, and lives in humble ways. He is brave, Who fights for the down-trodden. Deeds:- Man's deeds are recorded by the divine. He become good in the eyes of the divine by doing good deeds. God is the source of good deeds. Duty:- He alone is a householder who disciplines his sense desires. And begs from God contemplation, Austerity and self-control And gives in charity all he can through his body. Evil:- When the cloths are soiled and rendered impure, They are clean with soap, When the mind is defiled by sin, It is rendered pure by the love of his name. Faith:- Good life and immortality are the rewards of the faithful. The religion of the wise One will cleanse the faithful from all sin. Forgiveness:- Countless people have perished, without the spirit of forgiveness. Remove malice from your own heart, And behold! the whole world is your friend. Justice:- To see justice and fail to do it is an act of cowardice. Man:- Man's body is the dwelling place of God. God is the soul of man, his eternal nature. Love:- One who loves God truly will be cleansed of all his impurities.
